Ipsy Glam Bag Review

Ipsy Glam Bag Review

I started receiving Ipsy Glam Bags in September 2018 and haven’t looked back since. I love trying products I wouldn’t have picked out myself and have gotten some great deals along the way. If you haven’t heard of Ipsy, it’s a subscription beauty service whose customers receive personalized “glam bags” for only $10 each month. You can read more about them here, but for now I’m excited to share my review with you.

Stepping Out of My Comfort Zone: Style + Sound

Stepping Out of My Comfort Zone: Style + Sound

I got the opportunity earlier this week to style an outfit for myself that’s not something I’d typically wear. We went to a Metallica concert and I was so excited because the show was going to be a completely new experience for me. I’ve never been a fan of heavy metal (I admit I only knew one song they played), but was looking forward to a new experience. I knew my usual flowy, patterned, and somewhat colorful concert look was not going to work. I never wear all black because I feel it’s too heavy of a look for me most of the time. But, I wanted to do something totally different and have fun getting a bit out of my comfort zone.

Spring Style: Amazon Finds

Spring Style: Amazon Finds

I took a poll on Instagram to help me decide where to post some spring deals from: Nordstrom vs. Amazon. Around 70% of voters chose Amazon, so here we are! I love Amazon for it’s variety, great deals, and quick delivery. However, I know it can be somewhat intimidating and tricky to shop there because you can’t try things on or feel the quality. To offset this I always check ratings, read reviews, and look at the measurement charts in depth. If something doesn’t work out, returns are typically easy and customer service is readily available. Plus, several of your favorite brands are probably available on Amazon. If you haven’t tried it out, you definitely should!

For the style boards I’m sharing today, I browsed Pinterest to find a variety of looks and sourced pieces from Amazon so you can recreate them on a budget. In case you aren’t ready to take risks with unknown labels yet, I’ve included some items from brands you may currently be shopping department stores for. Now let’s get to it…

Homemade Marinara Sauce

Homemade Marinara Sauce

I’m so excited to share this quick and easy recipe with you! I never thought pasta sauce would be something I’d make at home myself rather buying from the grocery. I assumed it was difficult and time consuming, but I’m happy to admit I was very wrong. This delicious marinara takes little prep and only contains a few ingredients. It’s my go-to sauce for spaghetti and meatballs, chicken parm, and pizza.

Where to Eat & Drink in Jackson Hole

Where to Eat & Drink in Jackson Hole

We just got back from an incredible trip to Jackson, Wyoming! It truly is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever visited. It’s a small mountain town with tons of personality. The architecture was stunning and around each street corner was a restaurant or shop we couldn’t resist visiting. Oh, the landscape didn’t hurt either. As we walked around town it was hard not to notice the frosty trees and snow-covered Tetons peeking above the buildings. Even though I’m currently looking forward to spring, there’s nothing like a beautiful winter wonderland, and that’s exactly what we experienced last week. In the four days we were there 47 inches of snow fell and I wouldn’t have had it any other way!

Valentine’s Treats

Valentine’s Treats

I’m so excited to share these white chocolate dipped Rice Krispie treats and Oreos with you guys! They were so much fun to make and turned out even more adorable than I expected. I love the white and pink together and sprinkles are always a fun detail to add. Plus, they were absolutely delicious. We’ve been snacking on these the past two days and I’m not mad about it. Bonus: I got to wear this adorable apron my sweet friend got me for my birthday! I’m obsessed.

Beef Stew

Beef Stew

Soups and stews are a couple of my favorite things to make, especially during the colder months. I love the limitless options of what you can do with them, the aromas that fill the house for hours, the fresh ingredients and the fact that I usually have enough leftovers for a few lunches. The beef stew I’m sharing is very hearty with a rich, creamy base and it’s packed with veggies and greens, which always makes me feel good about what I’m eating. I adapted this recipe based on what I had at home and it was a huge hit. The original recipe is delicious, too!

Home Workspace

Home Workspace

We moved into our home about six months ago and have fallen more and more in love with it each day! However, we are currently trying to come up with a solution for a challenge we’ve come across. When we moved in we decided against using one of the extra bedrooms as an office. We both have family that travels in from out of town and we wanted to make sure they’d have a place to stay when they visit. We figured we could just set up shop with our laptops at the kitchen island when needed. No big deal right? Fast forward to Rob starting a new job which allows him to work from home every day and us realizing the kitchen island scenario just isn’t ideal. You live and you learn.

Lettuce Wraps

Lettuce Wraps

Those who know me well know my favorite place to be is in my kitchen, cooking or entertaining! It’s a place I can have fun, relieve stress, get creative and make memories with my family and friends. My kitchen is undoubtedly my happy place. This past weekend we had so much fun celebrating my birthday with family at our house. The menu was exactly what I wanted: pizza, wings, western salad, chocolate cake, my favorite pie (more to come on that), beer, wine, and cocktails. Did I mention wine? LOTS of wine. By Sunday our bodies were craving a healthy-ish meal to kick off our week on the right foot, which brings me to this recipe.
