Summer MVPs

I can hardly believe we’re already into September. This was our first full summer in our home and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We upgraded from a small balcony at our previous condo to a [small] yard at our new home and it’s been pretty amazing. Being able to grill out and sit comfortably on actual lounge furniture while allowing our dogs to run off leash somewhere other than a dog park has been – wait for it – LIFE CHANGING. We’ve been soaking it all in, but this summer has still flown by! The past few months have been jam packed with concerts, weddings, social events, and trips with family and friends. Definitely one for the books!

Since it’s still warm here in the Midwest I wanted to take time to round up some items that reached MVP status in my book this season. These are things I wore or used on repeat and lots can be carried into fall!

dress (similar here & here – ON SALE) | hat – ON SALE (love this one for fall – ON SALE) | slides |shades

To start, let talk about the number above. I can’t even count how many times I wore this Free People dress. It’s breezy, the cut is super flattering, and I can go sans bra (my new favorite box to check when adding a dress to my cart). I’ll wear the hat into fall and it’ll definitely be tagging along on our trip to Mexico next month! The slides are a great Hermes dupe at a fraction of the cost. I’ve been wearing them a few times a week and am convinced I need them in a print now.

[MORE] APPAREL

My love for band tees is endless (one + two). They look good with denim and slides or dressed up with a leopard print midi for date night. I’ve been living in them this summer and will wear them into fall with a jean jacket, cardigan, or blazer.
Is there anything better than great pair of denim? The 501 skinny are my favorite pair I’ve ever owned and I reached for them over any shorts in my closet all summer. So good.
Another staple in my wardrobe is a solid white bodysuit – versatile + effortlessly sexy.
Finally, can I go without mentioning this bikini from Amazon? Definitely not. I have gotten so many compliments on it and it was a STEAL at less than twenty bucks.

BEAUTY

The combo of this bronzer, tinted moisturizer with SPF (obsessed), and waterproof mascara developed during our beach vacay and has been in play all summer since then.  It’s given me a sun-kissed, fresh face without having to go full board on makeup everyday.  Anything to make life a little easier, ya know?
I brought this nail gel (love Regal Rose) home from a random Target trip and fell in love the first time I used it.  It’s easy to apply for an at-home manicure and doesn’t chip like a lot of other polishes I’ve tried.
For a little extra TLC I ordered up these face masks and this eye cream.  Both are super hydrating and feel cool on the skin…a couple things I crave after a long day in the sun.

HOME

Let me preface this by telling you there is no shame in my game.  When I spotted this jumbo inflatable pool I knew I had to have it.  Tacky?  Maybe. The best $40 I spent all summer? Bet your bottom dollar.  Passing out Laying out in it while Rob brought me chilled rosé in these tumblers was all I really needed this summer.
Perhaps not as exciting, but used just as much is this citrus juicer.  It’s amazing how much juice these little tools can extract from a single lime, not to mention the convenience factor for cocktails, salsa, fish…the list goes on.
If you’re trying to incorporate a way to be more sustainable metal straws are a must-have.  I love having them on-hand because I’ve found I drink waaaay more water when using straws. Who knew?!  Saving sea turtles + staying hydrated = success.

Have a great weekend, everyone, and feel free to drop a comment below with your summer MVPs. I’d love to hear!

Cheers!
