A Twist on the Classic Oxford

I’m so happy spring is finally in the air! We’ve spent a lot of time outside the past few days and it’s really put some pep in my step! It’s kind of incredible to think of the affect the weather has on my mood, motivation, eating habits and willingness to leave my house. When it’s cold out I come home and immediately change into sweats, and it takes some serious persuasion to get me to leave. So, the sunshine and higher temps we’ve had in the Midwest recently have basically transformed me into a whole new woman! I’ve enjoyed getting ready and going out, even if it’s just to the grocery store. New season, new me. My sandals, warm weather tops, and light jackets have come out of hiding and I’ve added a few pieces to my closet for spring, too. I’ve gravitated toward a lot of neutrals when shopping so I can mix and match everything into summer.

I love finding classic pieces with a bit of an edge to spice up a look! One of my recent favorites is Madewell’s tie front top. I love the refreshing feel of the crisp white and the knot gives the top a fun, modern detail so you can easily wear it day-to-night. The fit is very flattering with high-waisted jeans, which is pretty much the only denim fit I wear these days. I’ll be able to pair this top with these wide leg cropped pants, this leopard print skirt and a fitted sleeveless dress like this. So many options!

knot front top – ON SALE! | jeans – ON SALE! (love these Levi’s, too – size up) |sandals (also LOVE this white pair) | basket bag – sold out, love this bamboo option | sunglasses | choker | ring – NYC market find, similar here + here | lipstick – layered swagger + conceited

What are your favorite classic pieces and what are you excited to wear now that the weather is breaking?

Cheers!
